H.E. Bunyad Huseynov, Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Islamic Republic of Iran presented his credentials to the President Hassan Rouhani
On May 17, 2016 H.E. Bunyad Huseynov, newly-appointed Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Islamic Republic of Iran presented his credentials to H.E. Hassan Rouhani, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
H.E. Hassan Rouhani, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran recalled his recent meetings with H.E.Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan within international organizations, as well as in Tehran and Baku and asked to convey his warm regards and best wishes. Recalling also his meetings with the late President Heydar Aliyev, President Rouhani expressed pleasure of establishment of sincere relations with President Ilham Aliyev.
Iranian President underlined that serious will is demonstrated by both sides to further improve relations between two countries. He emphasized necessity of serious efforts by the relevant agencies of our countries to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation and stressed importance of connecting Astara-Astara railway within the framework of reconstruction of transport and infrastructure projects.
H.E. Hassan Rouhani, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran noted that cooperation between Iran-Azerbaijan-Russia, Iran-Azerbaijan-Turkey and Iran-Azerbaijan-Georgia will serve both the interests of our countries and the region as a whole. He stressed necessity of solution of the conflicts in the region with peaceful means and within the framework of cooperation and participation of regional countries. Touching upon Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict President Rouhani pinned hopes that the ceasefire regime will be maintained. He underlined readiness to assist for the solution of the conflict.
President Rouhani stressed that the opportunity arisen in the light of agreement signed with P5+1 countries and cease of sanctions should be utilized to further enhance relations between our countries. Finalization of projects on the agenda may serve to increase level of mutually beneficial relations and their strengthening.
Conveying warm regards and highest consideration of H.E. Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the President Hassan Rouhani Mr. Bunyad Huseynov expressed best wishes of the Government and people of Azerbaijan to the Government and people of Iran. He stressed that bilateral relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Islamic Republic of Iran are based on kinship and traditional friendship of our peoples, along with common history and culture.
Ambassador Bunyad Huseynov noted that he had witnessed support of friendly and brotherly Islamic Republic of Iran since the first years of independence the Republic of Azerbaijan. He recalled that Iran had warmly welcomed Azerbaijani citizens who had to flee their lands as a result of Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Iran’s continuous support to solving Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic’s problems which is in a blockade as a result of the conflict was also mentioned.
H.E. Bunyad Huseynov underlined great efforts by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev in mutual confidence building and developing Azerbaijan-Iran relations. He stressed that Azerbaijan demonstrated highest political will to enhance bilateral and multilateral relations with Iran, which is an important country of the region, both in regional and international fora. Ambassador noted that mutually beneficial cooperation of Azerbaijan and Iran within the framework of UN, Non-Aligned Movement, Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Economic Cooperation Organization will serve to the interests of our nations.
Azerbaijani Ambassador congratulated the Supreme Leader Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Hosseini Khamenei and people of Iran on the occasion of successful completion of negotiations conducted by the “Government of prudence and hope” with P5+1 countries and cease of sanctions. He stressed that the Republic of Azerbaijan had always been against these sanctions and the official position of our state had been emphasized by President Ilham Aliyev on numerous occasions. Mr.Huseynov underlined that he will continue his tireless efforts to further strengthen and enhance friendship and cooperation between our countries and nations. He expressed his confidence that his important and honourable mission will be realized within the framework of close cooperation with the government led by President Hassan Rouhani.
Ambassador Bunyad Huseynov wished tranquility and prosperity to the people of Iran and stressed that relations between Azerbaijan and Iran have solid foundation.
