The photo exhibition titled “Azerbaijan – the pearl of Islamic culture” took place in Tehran
In the framework of declaration the year of 2017 as the year of Islamic Solidarity in Azerbaijan, on October 26, 2017, in Tehran, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Islamic Republic of Iran with the Cultural Institute of the Economic Cooperation Organization organized the photo exhibition titled “Azerbaijan – the pearl of Islamic culture”.
In the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition, the Ambassador Bunyad Huseynov in his speech mentioned the following: “According to declaration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the year of 2017 declared as Year of Islamic Solidarity in Azerbaijan. This year Azerbaijan hosted many international events such as Islamic Solidarity Games 2017. This spectacular sportive event gathered more than 3000 athletes from 54 countries. In 2017 Azerbaijan also organized various concerts, festivals, exhibitions, conferences and such series of events will held over the year. The call initiation to islamic solidarity is the reflection of special attention of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev to the islamic religion and solidarity”.
The Ambassador finished his speech by quoting from President Ilham Aliyev, by the saying “The solidarity is our strength”.
Mr. Mahammad Mehdi Mazahiti, the President of the Cultural Institute of the Economic Cooperation Organization in his speech mentioned the following: “Declaration 2017 as the year of Islamic Solidarity in Azerbaijan is commendable and wise step of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is country having an ancient history and culture, fascinating nature and human potential. The economic development of Azerbaijan gained due to policy lead by the head of the state plays a positive effect in the country’s foreign reputation. Azerbaijan always gave its contribution to the ECO Cultural Institute, despite it’s not the member yet. We highly appreciate the useful cooperation relations created between the Institute and the Embassy. We will continue our efforts towards development our cooperation future too”.
After the speeches the photos of historical, religious and cultural monuments in Azerbaijan, retrospect of ancient and modern Baku, as well as the mosques and religious monuments which are under the occupation is demonstrated to the visitors. Meanwhile, the visitors of the exhibition enjoyed the photos on tourism potential of regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan and historical and cultural monuments of the Nakhchevan Autonomous Republic.
Heads of diplomatic representations and international organizations accredited in Iran, governmental officials, intellectuals, prominent cultural and art personalities, as well as different mass media representatives took part in the event.
The religious-cultural monuments in Azerbaijan, landscapes on Baku, Gobustan rock paints, mud volcanos and “Duzdag” cave in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic attracted big interest in participants.
