On July 27, 2021, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif.​

The ministers exchanged views on some issues of the cooperation agenda between the two countries, as well as the latest situation in the region.
